One diary, every way
people try to book you
Halfpast takes bookings from your site, Google, Instagram and the phone, puts them in one diary, and enforces the deposit and cancellation rules you actually meant to have.
This is the widget your clients see
Not a screenshot — the real thing, wired up. Pick a service, a day and a time and watch the summary fill in. It is the same component that goes on your site, in your colours.

No card needed to hold this slot.
Nothing here is faked with images. Every state in the calendar and the slot grid is a real element with a real disabled or selected state, which is why it also works with a keyboard and a screen reader.
Everyone's week on one screen
The view a manager actually needs — who is working, who is full, and which held slots are about to expire. Utilisation is calculated from the grid, so it cannot drift away from what you are looking at.
| Who | Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat | Sun | Booked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nadia Farouk Senior stylist | Booked | Booked | Held, unconfirmed | Booked | Booked | Open | Not working | 83% |
| Tomás Herrera Colour specialist | Not working | Booked | Booked | Open | Booked | Booked | Not working | 85% |
| Ivy Chen Stylist | Open | Held, unconfirmed | Booked | Booked | Open | Booked | Not working | 79% |
| Treatment room Bookable resource | Open | Open | Booked | Held, unconfirmed | Booked | Booked | Not working | 73% |
Held slots expire after ten minutes and drop back to open without anyone touching them. A resource — a room, a chair, a piece of equipment — books exactly like a person does.
The rules that decide whether you get paid
Most booking software treats cancellation as a checkbox. It is a ladder, and the whole argument is about where the rungs go. These are the defaults we ship, and every number is yours to move.
Cancellation ladder
- Full refund
More than 48 hours
Client cancels or reschedules themselves. The slot reopens immediately and anyone on the waitlist is notified.
- Deposit kept
48 to 24 hours
Still self-service, but the deposit is retained. Rescheduling once inside this window is free — most people would rather move than lose the money.
- 50% of service
Under 24 hours
Cancellation has to go through you. The client sees a message explaining why, not a dead end.
- Full price
No-show
Charged automatically to the card on file after a two-hour grace period, with a receipt and the policy text attached.
What else you can set
- Deposit 20%
- Taken at booking, applied to the final bill. Can be a flat amount, a percentage, or off entirely for named services.
- Booking window 60 days
- How far ahead people can book. Longer helps regulars; shorter reduces the churn of things moving.
- Lead time 2 hr
- The minimum notice for an online booking. Stops someone booking a colour that starts in fifteen minutes.
- Buffer after 15 min
- Added automatically after each appointment, per service. Cleaning, notes, or getting a coffee.
- Waitlist On
- When a slot frees up, the first person on the list gets ten minutes of exclusivity before it goes public.
- Reminders 48 & 3 hr
- Email then SMS. The three-hour one is what actually moves the no-show number.
The 31% no-show reduction we quote is the median across accounts that turned on deposits and the three-hour SMS reminder together. Accounts that turned on only one of the two saw about a third of that.
Four ways in, one diary
Typical split across our accounts after ninety days. The point is not that any one channel wins — it is that a slot taken on Instagram has to disappear from the website in the same second.

Bars are scaled against the largest channel, not the total. The shares add to 100%.
Phone bookings do not disappear when you go online — they fall to about a tenth and become the awkward ones, which is exactly the share you want a human answering.
Per calendar, per month, no commission
We do not take a cut of your bookings. A busy month costs the same as a quiet one, which is the opposite of how most of this market prices.

What people ask before switching
Including the ones that are awkward for us. If yours is not here, the contact page reaches a person.
No, and we are not planning to. You pay per calendar per month whether you take four bookings or four hundred. Commission pricing means your best month is our best month and your quiet month is still expensive for you, which we think is the wrong shape for a small business.
We import them. Send a CSV or connect your current system and we bring across future bookings, client records and contact details. Historical bookings come over as a read-only archive. It takes a day and we do it alongside your existing system, so nothing depends on the new one until you say so.
Yes, and it is the default. Name, contact and a card if you are taking deposits — that is the whole flow. Forced account creation is the single biggest cause of abandoned bookings we have measured, so we made it opt-in and most people leave it off.
On its own, a little. Combined with the three-hour SMS reminder, the median account sees about a third fewer. We would rather give you that number than a bigger one, because the accounts that saw enormous drops mostly had no policy at all before, and that is not a fair comparison for you.
Class and group booking is newer than the rest and it shows. If you run drop-in classes with waitlists and shared capacity as your main business, a specialist tool will do it better today. One-to-one appointments with the occasional group session is where we are strongest, and we would rather say so than have you find out in month two.
Export everything — bookings, clients, notes, payments — as CSV from the settings screen, any time, without asking us. Your booking page keeps working for thirty days after you cancel so nobody turns up to a dead link, and then it redirects wherever you point it.
Set it up during one coffee
Thirty days free, no card, and if you are moving from something else we will do the import for you.
